Alexis Smith

Alexis Smith is a multifaceted individual whose passion for music and innovation has driven her to excel in the world of trombones and artist relations. As the Product Specialist and Artist Relations Manager for S. E. Shires, Alexis's journey with the brand began in a triumphant moment, winning her own Shires trombone after clinching the top spot in the 2012 Southeast Trombone Symposium solo competition.

A distinguished musician, Alexis earned her Bachelor of Music from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, followed by a Master of Music from The Juilliard School, and ultimately attaining a Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University.

Beyond her academic achievements, Alexis has toured globally with an eclectic range of artists from Adele to Evanescence. Currently holding the position of Principal Trombonist with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra in Fort Myers, Florida, Alexis continues to perform in the professional orchestral setting.

Not limiting herself to traditional roles, Alexis is also a co-founder of the Boston Trombone Project, showcasing her dedication to collaborative musical endeavors. Her impact extends beyond the stage as she co-created the S.E. Shires Rising Artist Program, fostering and supporting emerging talent in the realm of brass playing.

Away from the world of music, Alexis is an amateur boxer and an award-winning axe thrower, as well as an avid heavy-metal fan.
